The Snow Thread

great photo’s. Last time I went it was November and when I got home I had 500 photo’s of red leaves.

I know what you mean about doors being small. Japanese bathtubs are also funnily small.

And of course… here is the video.

How’d ya Camelbak go with ice-up? No insulation? What is your trick?

Oh and brings back good memories! Thanks for the share!

No tricks, she froze up… a good suck on the teet would unlodge the ice though

i quite enjoyed that. nice one

am in chamonix. first day riding and i fucked my ankle and damaged ligaments. walked out of the hospital with a cast on. major bumming. been watching the epic mountain ranges from hotel room for the last week. rad. another week of phsyio and then i head to bulgaria. hopefully can ride by then and hopefully way cheaper than chamonix.

That really sucks. I did my knee on Christmas Eve when I was in Switzerland back in the day, took two weeks to recover, which is lucky because it could have ended my season.

Chamonix is stunning:

That last pic… whoa.

Just got back from Tokyo and Hakuba amazing time was had…

Some pics

And finally our Transport while at Hakuba ( I wish)

What did you think of Hakuba? Did you get much snow while you were there? Judging by the road… no. It seems like it is on the melt.

I has SO many pics of fixed gear and faux fixes. Might throw them up.

We were told the week we were there was the first Sunny week in 10 weeks…

Had 2 days of great powder at the end of the week.

I am def going back next year in Jan not feb.

I think Japan is now my fav place to travel. The little Pension ( bed and breakfast) we stayed in was amazing, Run by a little old Japanese dude that looked after us amazingly well. Drove us all around to all the fields

Fav snow field was Happo One

hopefully next year I will get to do some back country stuff

I had the most fun at Happo as well. It had the most variety and some excellent off piste stuff after you jumped under the ropes… and the park was awesome. A lot of back to back kickers for every level. Are you able to let me know the details of the pension? I would like to stay somewhere a little different next time! This is where I stayed: The Lab Hakuba | Hakuba Lodge, Hakuba Accommodation, Cheap Accommodation Hakuba, Japan Ski Lodge

But I agree, Jan seems to be the time to go. Having said that, records show more snow in Feb than Jan.

I stayed at The Lab too! Fucking funny place, especially when someone decides to pick up the guitar in the bar and try to sing midnight oil.

Hahaha! I never had that happen to me! No one touched the guitar thank god.

My fav bit about The Lab was waiting to see who would pour the last beer on the keg. For some reason, it would explode out from the tap all over the bar person. Sooooo good. Not sure if you noticed, but most Japanese draught taps have two pourers in the tap head. One for the beer and another one that would dispense the head! Crazy.

I was drinking too much sake to realise.

Sake… you can keep it. Never became a fan. Not to say I didn’t try! I did however make a purchase of a Japanese knife for the kitchen. That thing is so sharp you wouldn’t even realise you cut yourself with it until it started bleeding.

Oh, just found this… check it.

Fuck me! I could never work out how there was always a good head… now I know! Even if it wasn’t automatic, they at least have the double spout going on everywhere…

Yup, pull for beer… push for head. The head spout is really hard to pick if you aren’t looking for it.

A better video… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSKouCqLSw8

i used to work in a bar in glasgow that had these, funnily enough, on the Foster’s taps…

Just made another video with some of the extra footage. Some repeated though… Enjoy.
