So I’ve been kicking around the idea of organising some rides for ages now and have finally got my arse in gear. Details here :

This is essentially a series of road rides where “road” may include smooth bitumen, bike track, potholed country roads, gravel/dirt roads and possibly some singletrack. There may be significant climbs and the distance will probably be over 100km.

The emphasis is on getting out into the countryside, into less bike-friendly places and testing yourself, not racing. I’ll be riding a fixed-gear but all bikes are welcome. Don’t ride something you’re afraid to get dirty. Rides continue rain/hail/shine.

All rides leave from Fed Sq. First ride is a nice loop out to a place called Darraweit. Lots of dirt road and plenty of cows to moo at. Good times :

Unforseen circumstances mean I won’t be riding this tomorrow. I’ll be doing it on Good Friday instead.

Apologies to anyone who was planning to turn up (tumbleweeds …) Feel free to ride it tomorrow anyway, map’s online, or do join me next Friday 7am Fed Sq.

my current production of lungbutter had led me to believe that i wasnt going to be able to make this.

current plans for easter indicate that i wont be able to make it either then… but if they change I’m still in.

Weather’s gonna be rad. The route is rad. There’s rad hills, rad roads, rad cows, rad lack of cars.
