Hey guys,
So in June i’ll be off to Japan, Germany and Hong Kong. I’ll be taking my bike with me and hopefully putting some millage on it.
My question is has anyone on here toured around locally, or overseas? What are your experience? Do’s and Don’t’s, Bikes on planes, things to look out for?
I’ve done a fair bit of research but was just after some first hand accounts.

I am going to Europe with my fixie + backpack either end of JULY or AUGUST. yaay
it was cheaper for me to buy another bike in europe and sell it when i leave than it would have been to take my bike with me.

I rode Japan - but you might need more than one gear! Some cool ‘hills’ over there. Nice riding though. There’s a nice Bike Path along the south part of the east coast (south of Tokyo) that meets a ferry from Irago to Toba. From there you can ride through the mountains to Kyoto.
Take your bike, a bit pricey in Tokyo!

Yeah, frequently, the cost of bring my bike isn’t pretty, but because im jumping from continent to continent - i think i’ll just bring my bike any way. did u buy a fixie and tour around? or just road around to see the sites?
Awesome, thanks for the advice Dallas - don’t think i’ll go too crazy in Japan, just chilling really… would be fun i’d say - how long is the ride from Tokyo to Kyoto?
