Track bike porn

Extremely unfortunate but racing incidents are just that.

Guy right in front of me had a brain fade and steered onto the duck board taking himself out and me going over the bars at 55km/hr! At least he did come over and ask if I was okay whilst waiting for the ambulance - my reply may have been a little blunt and in the negative. I ended up being out over $2000 at the end my collarbone operation. Then there was the cost of a replacement frame as mine was written off…

A bloke at RAW got a pretty firm talking too by Crafty last week for more or less sitting up when he was on the front. It all happened behind me as the group had already split.

I’d be pretty filthy if someone caused me to crashed and damaged anything of mine, let alone a disc. But this is partially why I don’t run crazy expensive stuff at track. It’s the only racing I do and the chances of an incident being caused by someone else are so much higher. If I crash my sworks out on the road there’s every chances it’ll be my fault…or if it’s a car that’s probably easier to claim than “old mate in div 3 cooked at and went off his line”

I’ve only been to a couple of nights of RAW this year. Found the racing to be super sketchy in Div 3, and I hadn’t done enough training in the lead up to be happy to put myself in that situation, so i’ll sit it out for rest of the season and start back in summer. Plus my track frame is irreplaceable, not worth it for me, would rather prang it on the street than the track.

Troy? Yeah bloody unlucky poor bugger but when you run thousands of dollars worth of race wheels in training it’s bound to happen.
I saw another guy I know down here destroy a brand new head 3 in a training night too.
Honestly I’d just run training wheels.

Yup. Feel for the guy.

if the dude didn’t apologise, that is fairly shit.

but…

it’s tuesday track, not the Austral or the Melbourne Cup on Wheels etc, run your cheapies if you’re training for bigger events. makes you faster when you put the good wheels on for opens etc.

also, end of his career? nahhhh… just put a different wheel on!!!

Career or hobby? If it’s a career his sponsor should sort him out with some new wheels.

Tuesday night isn’t just training for everyone though, for some people it’s the highest level of track racing they’ll ever do so maybe they like to bring the fast wheels out to play. Racing is pretty funny when you’re paying for your own stuff, you could be spend 2k on some race wheels easily but have to be willing to ruin them (or at least accept that it may happen) every time you hit the track.

don’t get me wrong, I’d be pissed if my 30th bday Shamals were ruined on a Tuesday night, but it wouldn’t stop me racing.

y’know, if I ever went to Tuesday night track…

So, heres a link to the CA insurance. I haven’t read through the PD but there is a bit about “misc damage”… am I reading this right that CA can provide insurance or having a CA licence includes insurance??

Looks like the first option with unto 5K cover cots $300ish per year with a $500 excess for carbon bikes n’ bits… Anyone here doing this? Made a claim?

Be nice to see a better shot of the new Script as a whole bike.

Not sure if posted before.
I like this.
Keen to try one of those Fizik Volta saddles too.

no, you’re not, I’ve seen house bricks with nicer curves

I’ve actually got a bunch of mates back in France riding the Volta. They coped a fair bit of flak first, but now everyone’s coming around to it. From what I hear the saddle is really good to ride.

So good and for sale.

A well loved Soren Son from the Bates family.
