I know I’m late on this one but Yamato is damn fine too-dinky little place but has that charm about it, on corrs lane from memory in the CBD
yamoto also have one on exhibition…looks less cool from the outside but inside there are nice little booths to eat in…good food too.
+1 to yu-u, kenzan and izakaya den. sakura kaiten is good for sushi. it’s a sushi train deal but they’ll make stuff to order and the staff are super friendly.
there’s also a tiny, yakatori place in one of the little alleys up the exhibition street end off flinders lane. can’t remember the name, but it’s pretty ace.
