Has anyone used one of these Ortlieb U-Lock holster’s? It looks like it would work well with the Timbuk2 messenger bag strap. I picked up a bunch of those Kryptonite Evolution Mini U-locks while in the US, they’re only $45. 
I’m sure it’s a good bit of kit…as an alternative you could go the Skin Grows Back lock loop and support a 'Strayan company.
or you could just put it thru your belt loop.

I just tuck it in the gap between my belt and my jeans. Easy to get in and out but doesn’t fall out while riding. It’s essentially the same as a propper holster, kind of.
Do this and save yourself $45. Easy.
