Hey I’m quite new to fixed gear riding and I’ve discovered the bike i bought (off eBay) has 27in rims and there not that great. i have about $250 and im looking into some new wheels.
I’ve been looking at these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Weinmann-Deep-V-DP18-Track-Wheels-LIME-GREEN-Fixed-Gear_W0QQitemZ280430577078QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCycling_Parts_Accessories?hash=item414af705b6
and i’m just wondering if there good or not and what people think of them? Unfortunately i cant access the sales forum yet so i cant go on that.
And does anyone know of other decent wheels with deep v style rims for $250 or under?
Much Appreciated
Short answer: they’re worth it and are probably the best wheels you can buy in that price range.
Long answer: do a search of the forums for ‘weinmann’ and/or ‘deep v’ – a lot has been said on this exact topic already.
you should pm user rolly he has a set of lime green DP18’s in his garage unused and brand new with a machined side wall so you can throw on a front brake (coz your new to riding fixed and i know your to smart to not ride with out one just for the look of the bike)and not ruin the lovely paint job, so if your in melb he might sort you out and you wont have to wait for delivery
other then that i have dp18’s from bells, they ride fine, not amazing but have lasted me a year so far and will last a lot longer as well, defiantly a good buy for their price
Ahh sweet thanks heaps guys, Deffinatly will message Rolly about that. if cant do,then ill go with the ones from bells
Much Appreciated
