$9 isn’t so bad. The eggbeaters are the same. Loose the end cap and you get this annoying lateral movement. It happened to me. All the shops I went to said that I couldn’t buy just the end cap. The only way to get the end cap was to buy the complete bearing replacement kit which comes with the end caps. Cost me about $70 and I never used the whole kit either.

Where’s this EPX place and how do I hook up the cheap pedals?
Anyone ride Times on their mtb? I’m keen for some clipless for offroad, but I’d like to be able to swap them onto the fixed as well.

been riding straps for the past few months and at the moment im not really feeling it. so clipless is on the cards.
pedals seem to be pretty sorted, time atac from EPX.
what shoes? id prefer straps instead of laces but thats more of an aesthetic thing that anything.

Shimano or Specialized seem very popular among the Sat riders.
Good quality, decent price. One thing about the Shimanos though is that the cleat mounting area is not recessed enough, so your cleats will contact the ground as you walk.

I bought some Specialized MTB shoes a month or so ago from Fitzroy Cycles for ~$120. They have three straps, don’t look like gaudy space shoes and they’re light.
Looks about right, except mine are black with no red at all.
The website says that they’re $139.00, how do i get some $120.00 action?
They were on special when I bought them.
But there were a couple of other shops that were selling them cheaper than $139. Steve bought some recently too from somewhere other than Fitzroy.

There’s some new Time MTB shoes coming out at the start of October I believe. I’m waiting for them in the hope that the heels will be less cupped than the Specialized (which can cause aggravation to my Achilles tendons).

does anyone have a set of trashed time atacs i can buy the metal end caps from? i could only buy a plastic one last time, and i put it in very firmly, i didn’t think it would be able to come out… i really screwed it in very solidly…
