For those of you who have read or know of Will Self he’s his view on cycling.
Will Self: On Your Bike - NOWNESS
I want to hear Ken Self’s views.
i like his books. i wish he’d have refrained from using the words zen and fixed-gear, though.
i like his books, i do feel he personally comes across as a bit “holier than thou” in alot of his interviews…
that walking doco he did seemed like he was being a tad judgemental of society.
Have any of you read "Grey Area’?
Nice to hear the word quotidian again
quo·tid·i·an
adjective
- daily: a quotidian report.
- usual or customary; everyday: quotidian needs.
- ordinary; commonplace: paintings of no more than quotidian artistry.
- (of a fever, ague, etc.) characterized by paroxysms that recur daily.
Self is quite a character. Uber cool, then uber knob and now cool again. And yes, Grey Area was quite a book.
/btw snail … nice avatar
I think I’ve given away more copies of Grey Area, because people never returned them, then any other book I read or lent.
Great Apes was fantastic - lent that out and can’t remember who to.
I remember seeing a doco on him about 15 years ago where gauged all the company logos off his volvo - in some spots it looked like he had taken them off with a rusty spoon. That was probably in his earlier cool phase.
Haven’t read grey matter, but have it here and will start tomorrow
