Wisemans Ferry Gravel Grind [SYD] Sunday 23 June

I’m in if it rains. Not going to miss this one.

Sorry to hear Drozzy is out. Architects hey.
That means I have a free seat in my car from Leichhardt if anyone needs a lift.

Ev - are you proposing a bbq or home-cooked stuff? I think some bread/snags would be a winner, assuming other people are into it and we bring $5 - $10 each or something.

if i can get a way out there im in, very keen to do something as im pretty new to sydney

I’m soooooo keen for this, but its not looking good. pretty bummed.

Novatec hub so standard cogs, I guess.

Odds are I won’t make it though, I’ll only turn 21 once.

This is pretty true!

Alex, the wife said she may bake something, but can’t be 100% sure. I was thinking depending on wetness factor/fire regs i’d just bring a hotplate and burn some snags there, + bread, and attempt to brew coffee. Going to steal some coffee cups from the local coffee shop today.

As for dollars, more like $2-$5 will be plenty, not wanting to profit

Whilst I maaaaayy be on a track bike, provided I ride it, it will have two brakes.

I have a free space in my car from crows nest - bob/charlie, looking at you kids.

I’ve exchanged my architect hat for ‘urban designer’ now.

Pull an all nighter?

Yep, it is on what ever the weather does.

I’ll post some final details tomorrow.

The suspense!

Home already Harry!

Wait for it… wait for it.

OK not much, just a few things:

  1. It is still on whatever the weather. It looks cold and wet for now, so bring a change of clothes for the car, and some good warm layers for the ride. If it really is terrible, it will just make it more memorable.

  2. Get there with a bit of time to set up, we depart at 8:00. There is some undercover seating at the car park and some BBQs, so I will put on some bacon and egg rolls. Given the weather forecast this will be needed.

  3. Check your bike and bring spares. Look at Lorday’s excellent bolt tips in this thread.

  4. Carry enough food to get you through.

  5. I had no mobile phone coverage on the reccy.

  6. The car park is to the left immediately before the ferry to the north of the shops.

See you on Sunday.

This.

Hang on, north of the shops?

Based on the map I thought we were taking the Webbs Creek Ferry, not Wiseman’s Ferry. Which ferry?

Either way, a pre-ride B&E roll would be amazing.

Gotta be honest here, not sure I’ll be heading out if the forecast holds true.

Ditto. Perth has turned me into a bitch. Rain/mud = not my thing :frowning:

If you wuss out on this I’m going to slap you in the tits. YOU HAVE FULL MUDGUARDS DONT YOU?! Biggest sissy. You too HLC.
