Hey guys,

I didnt really know where to ask for some rides advice so ended up in the pub, as always.

I’ll spend the long October weekend down in Wollongong and was wondering if you may have some tips for nice rides around the area. I’m not stick to the coast and wouldnt mind riding inland if thats where I find some quieter roads, especially during the long weekend.
Taking my fixed gear down there and my girlfriend will bring her roadie. So I guess we are up for anything around 70 to 100kms.

There are some great inland roads around there, but they’ll involve a fair bit of climbing to get up the escarpment.

Macquarie Pass is a really beautiful ride if you like hairpin bends / rainforest. Would recommend a brake for the way down.

If you’re interested in Macquarie Pass you could always check out Mt. Keira, it’s closer to Wollongong and the road has recently been closed to cars so a lot safer too.
