Nah, he was making frames for a good 5 years there at least. I remember seeing a Hufnagel in Berlin back in 07 or 08. And as Dayne says, he’s on sabatical riding motorbikes from the US to Argentina/Chile. I’m sure he’ll go back to making frames sometime.
Still for $6.5K I can think of a good number of other bikes I’d rather buy. A MAP would be a good starting point 
The geared version is on my N+1 list if a large one was ever ordered.
