Fantastic build, top notch work, but come on, those bars! Did they gradually slip down as you rode home? Do the Busyman stuff some justice and fix them up.
As Andy W says, aim the bar ends at the rear brake bridge.
50/16 is not too bad, kinda hairy downhill atm since i have to get used to slowing down without coasting, and them dots are braille. Gotta save up again for some veloflex(es).
I’ve never ridden in Melbourne but damn I would be dying do 50/16 in Brisbane.
Really sweet work dude.
I’ve ran with a dummy break/hoods etc and it isn’t that bad once you get used to it. A little gold finger brake would totally change the look.
Atheistically it would be nicer if you could run the cable through your tape, but im not sure if those bars would have a lining. But that’s tiny detail stuff, im nancy like that.
Love this build. The chromed bits do it for me, and that stitched bar tape pretty damn nice. My brother is running the dummy brake on his old conversion, looks a tonne better than just one.
Busyman stuff really takes bikes to the next level of complete and neat. Anyone out there competing with him? Sounds like someone should get in to it, he is booked out til forever. Also one of the few things with bikes that you can post around the country/world relatively easily/cheap so the market is mega.
