zion.

so, i’ve been checking out zion frames online. saw some courier biking past riding one the other day and it looked sweet. any opinions?

Yo! That’d be me.

I’m back on the zion after I sheared the seat tube of my singlespeed roadie off at the bb. They aren’t super light but then neither am I. I can’t speak to longevity just yet, ask me again in 10 months, if I’m still riding it then it will be the longest a bike frame has lasted under me!

In short, for the price I think it’s a bloody good deal. I’m planning to put some 700c ss disc wheels and either bmx or saint cranks on that sucker, I think it’s gonna be rad.

Dan.

I’d have one of the 853 ones for sure.

i was going to make a facetious comment about couriers who ride zions, but i guess i’d better not…

Keep your mouth shut and go run a multidisciplinary design thing in Italy why don’tcha?

hey dan, ever taken it off the road?

yeah, yeah.

i will, i know a courier who rides a zion. Hes a bastard who cant climb above a 17, SNAP :-D!

those saint cranks are nice, pricey though.

Nah, never taken it off road, unless hopping those grass island things (I’m sure they have a technical name) along St. Kilda Rd. counts.

Thats pretty much what i thought, and it was.

seems to be some concern on other forums about tire clearance… anyone? you using cross tires there spud?

just 35c’s, but there’s a stack of clearance. I would think most non-silly tyres would fit.

final question: where did you boys score your frames?

I got mine from jensonusa.com but looking at the site just now I don’t see it anywhere. Might come back in stock sometime.

Same. I though Zionwas a JensonUSA in-house brand so i doubt you’ll find them elsewhere.
