1x10/1x11 road bike... am I crazzy?

Its a short cage x0 if that makes any difference

bicycle looks good H, btw. What width bars do you run?

Wow a complement from hmc… Thats a first
Actually good question re the bars- they are a bit narrow. I think i need 44s not presumably 40-42s

you definitely don’t need 44s. stay narrow it’s rad.

http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/sram-brings-1x-tech-to-the-road-sram-r1-43808/

Rapp’s set-up appears to use an existing CX1 rear derailleur with a road-specific SRAM 1x-branded 54T front chainring (the largest currently available SRAM CX1 ring is 46T). As with SRAM’s other 1x drivetrains, this road-going group uses SRAM’s X-SYNC chainring design with alternating thick and thin tooth profiles that more precisely mate up with the chain’s outer and inner plates. This tighter interface between the chain and chainring reduces chain slop, making it very difficult to drop a chain when there isn’t a front derailleur present.

Oh fuck this I’m out
Tt bike I can understand but for a proper road bike there is either
A, not enough range or
B, to many gaps

haha I’ve done it again!
But seriously for pancake flat Melb, it’s pretty good. And 10-42T cassettes in the future get pretty close.

Some days I want to do the drugs that H does…

Thanks Nick
Im on a natural high?

you exist on another plane H.

I see what you did there ;p

Thread dig but can’t find another place to ask…

Would it be possible to run an XTR 1x11 RD with Ultegra 11s shifters?

No, they are a different pull ratio.
It can be done with Di2 though.

Nice thread dig guys

Crucial bit of info I omitted - would be Di2. Rad!

Yep. Di2 road shifters work out of the box with xt/xtr di2 rear derailleurs apparently. Fronts don’t work/gotta be 1x.

fronts do work, you just need to run a seperate battery and junction box :stuck_out_tongue:

H should post more. The true hero of FOA since forever!

I feel Blakey gets all the credit for enabling but look here’s a thread H started that just solved an Australian guys problem who lives in Germany.
Ambassador H

You could run mechanical with one of these
