Just a headsup to those of you that race …
The 2009-2010 aboc Summer Sprint Series starts on the 4th of October at Blackburn, and we’re having a practice day on Sunday the 20th of Sept. Thankyou to the support of Gary Jackson (Riviera Cycles) and Andrew Steele (Avanti Plus Croydon) we have some pretty good prizes this summer!
A reminder, the practice round is this Sunday the 20th of Sept. UCI legal track bike and an ACF licence is required, but as it’s not a race meeting you can do this session on a ‘Ride’ licence as it’s a training session.
Brendan, I doubt it, as long as you’re running a standard track bike without any fairings etc - ie: the spirit of the rules is being held to. If you’ve slapped a bikini fairing on a BT … we’d probably be displeased, but any ‘factory’ track bike is ok as long as it’s a double-diamond frame - no RMIT superbikes!
The practice day was successful. 12 riders in total turned up to practice while we ironed out bugs in the timing system. It worked pretty well. Thankyou Nathan for the tapes. I hope I’ve stored them correctly for R1.
Round 1, Sunday Oct 4th. Pre-entry highly recommended - enter by email to me. carl@aboc.com.au
Thanks to John Lewis and Nathan Frazer we now have electronic timing for flying 200’s. Triggered by leftover copper tapes ex DISC. Works like a charm. We’ve also automated the draw once grading is done so the delay between flying 200’s and racing will be much less now
