2013 Giro D'Italia

Degenkolb nearly undoing all the good work of that stage win with his facial hair!

who’s winning?

Luca Paolini.

who the fuck is that?

He won het Niewsblad earlier this year… rwemember the first week never usually has the winner/ contenders in the lead jersey.

I remember nothing.

i’m surprised you’re conscious and functioning rolly…

Kinda crazy to me that Paolini is making his debut in the Giro at 36.

conscious, barely. functioning, not really.

I’m picking up what you’re putting down. I want to believe…but…Italian…Katusha…
Maybe it’s just his aero helmet?

Het Volk to us purists

So, I haven’t been following this at all.

What are gonna be the 1 or 2 stages worth watching?

This gives a detail of each stage.
Just check what you like in a race, (mountains, sprint, tt etc.) and choose 2.

I like ‘pivotal’ stages, maybe 19 and 20?

I quite enjoyed watching the highlights of Stage 5 last night, and seeing Cav look like an overweight weekend warrior grinding his way up that last climb.

haha, yeah. It’s what i must look like up Burgundy and the like

I’ll be definitely staying up for Stage 19.

Ascending Passo dello Gavia from Ponte di Legno - Sections up to 16%

Then Passo dello Stelvio from Bormio - up to 14% and with the last couple of kilometers to the summit at 10.7% and 12.1% respectively.

Ascending this

And then the mad descent via the 48 hairpins on the Prato Allo Stelvio side. Where riders will be trying to make time or trying not to lose time!

It spins me out knowing there are roads like that which actually exist.

go ride em! one day…

Stage 19 may be in trouble - and there is more snow expected:

I will be in Bormio in a couple of weeks and am somewhat worried about going from 40 degree weather to this…

Dalai - any tips on places to ride other than Gavia, Stelvio and Mortirolo in that area?
