iunno, they’ve been listed on bike24 etc for a while, and the 105 level stuff is uuuuuugo there too, it’s not like they’re proto renders.
I’d pay the extra for the RS685s unless the RS505s are some sort of amazing ergo miracle

Says in the article that the shape is different cos the materials used are cheaper. Sure is uggo tho. Pretty happy with how the 685s look tbh.

Bit of a thread dig but has anyone had experience with the 105 hydro shifters - €240 is a big difference between 105 and Sram Force hydro… I mean they look funky but are people slipping off them?
Def go have a hold of one in a shop. They are on many new focus bikes. They are ugly but will probably be really comfy for some people.

yep. Ive got em and love em, bit bigger than the 105 cable brifters I had before but still comfy and the braking performance far outweighs the slight size change

You have the ‘ultegra’ rs685 or whatever they are called? the 105 are much chunkier. Not like any other Shimano shakes
Ah yeah correct Mike. thats what i thought he was talking about, thought it was released as a non group specific hydro/mech upgrade. Didnt realise there is now a 105 specific brifter. Oops
Fwiw, i just set an ebay reminder for the rs685 shifters, and managed to score an unused set cheap and paired them with slx calipers. All in all cost me the same as one shifter new . Plenty of people upgrade to Di2 and flip em straight away
Phew - glad I didn’t pull the trigger just yet! Will have to keep an eye out on klein-anzeigen…
