I can solve this issue by pointing to the fact that TJ himself immediately made the connection between winning a stage and his GC abilities. The boy needs to be sat down and talked too. Don’t besmirch what were great sensations.

Mikel Landa again was a beast, great attacks from Zakarin as well, Tejay finished 10 minutes behind the GC guys

Thoughts on tonight’s time trial? I’d like to see Dumoulin on the top step, but I won’t be surprised if Nibali gets there instead
I reckon Dumoulin is in a pretty good place, also this TT is flatish, so big engines will rev.
On paper Dumoulin will destroy Quintana in the TT and take back the pink jersey, I think he’ll lose about 2-3 seconds per km or even more if there is a headwind. Thats assuming they’re both equally fatigued after 3 weeks of racing.
If Dumoulin hadn’t had to have a shit on the side of the road, he’d be unbeatable*
*a real thing said about a professional sporting event in 2017.
