HANG-GLIDING BOAT!!!
also, lolz at HMC.
Loved the boat! This ignoramus doesn’t understand all the Froomebot loathing, but is slowly learning. However, as a Spaniard, I do understand the sensations…
you’re well on the way then.
What do a nine time Grand tour winner and this animal have in common?
both GOAT.
correct - anyone to suggest the GOAT is in fact a seven time grand tour winner will be swiftly dispatched with a large steak to the groin.
Are we talking about this?
it’s actually worse than my pain face, by a considerable margin.
That’s the look you have when you have to go back to the bus and explain to Vino that your sensations ran out in the second week.
despite expectations, that was a pretty good tour i reckon.
Did not see any of it
yeah, must’ve been tough hiking in the alps instead.
I was half expecting to see it televised in bars, cafes etc. They really just don’t give a fuck about it over there.
It is strange that I would have seen more of it if I wasn’t in the country.
Really? The impression I get from the coverage is that the Tour is the race that stops the nation, for three weeks.
Really happy for Rigoberto and the Cannondale Drapac squad. Also for Matthews and Barguil for their jerseys and wins. Bardet, and the whole AG2R squad were brilliant. The attacks, the effort, really trying to make something happen - I think they were great. I also think they inspired the other teams and riders to have a go, launch attacks, keep hitting Froome & Sky. That said, apart from a couple of stages (one with manufactured drama) it was a pretty forgettable tour. Chris looked the most vulnerable he ever has but the Fortress Froome never looked stronger. Finally, I’ve learned to be careful what I want wish for. Phil & Paul frustrate me- but I’d rather them back as at least there’s real rapport and conversation there. Robbie & Matt had some occasional accidental insight - the commentary though was like listening to Captain Kirk call the race.
Agree with Luke on most of that, except for Phil and Paul. If you really miss them, you could probably just take their commentary from any of the previous years and overlay it on any of this year’s or future stages and barely notice. Did you know you can save 30% of your energy in the peloton?
I for one quite enjoyed having commentators who could identify riders immediately and provide insight into, you know, like real tactics and stuff.
