Another BNA topic for those that expect to ride less that 10,000 km in 2026

Aiming for 5000km. Currently at 2031km 366km behind target. Mostly due to 1 month overseas and some health issues also contributed. But catching up with some consistent riding and increasing my standard daily distance.

My original goal was 8,500 km but after 9 weeks off the bike due to a health issue I am clearly not going to make it.
Back riding after clearance from the Doc and currently sitting at 3,119 km ytd a more realistic goal is 7,000 km so that’s my reset goal

Cracked the 5km YTD but with crappy Vic cold weather will have to finish the yr bike busy to keep it up. Hitting 3/4 of a century still enjoying riding this yr, all the best to everyone already on FOA and to the BNA migrants.

My Lord the weather here is shite at the moment! Might even have to get on the mind numbingly boring trainer and do a MyWhoosh session.

Sounds like desperate times to me. I bought a cheap smart trainer when Covid hit … hate the bloody thing

 Ditto.

Got it for cycling when away oncall. Only way to ride.

I basically prefer not to ride than get on it now. I have ceased going away oncall. Stopped paying for Zwift some time back.

3,808 km and 26,321m elevation to the end of July so on the way back after a significant lay off due to illness. Still aiming for 7,000km for 2026

Wow … huge effort.
No bike racing kms for me ever but still hooked on pedalling out there at my pace.
Best advice my son in law has given me was to take up riding at 68.

Got my racing fix earlier in life with sailing (dinghies and offshore)

I managed to celebrate my 85th birthday last week with an 85km ride with four younger retired mates … couldn’t imagine anything better.

I had a message from Sebs father on my FB Cycling page and he has over 30,000kms up so far this year.

That is up there. Chris Hamilton is from here. In the Vuelta now. 24k km so far this year.

I remember Lappers saying he used to do about 30k a year.

762 km for October bringing total YTD to 6,005 km about 80 km ahead of schedule so happy with that.

Well under 10k, but looking back over the years this is my biggest on record (strava) with 2 months to go. Thanks to fuel price gouging Im at a smidge over 3100km to date by just avoiding driving where I can ride instead. Lots of commuting.

I generally dont target kms or riding time but its satisfying to see a big number on the kms.

Being retired I only ride for fitness, recreation and mental health. I generally ride with a group of retired mates three days a week, Tuesday Thursday and Club group on Saturday. Most rides are around 50+ km with the mandatory coffee after.
Being a bit of a data crank I have all my rides recorded with an annual target to aim for.
Works for me.
