Hi everyone
If you check out the links I posted it helps explain why I posted here. I haven’t found that style of photos anywhere else except in the fixie scene (that involved bikes). It has zero to do with $ or target audience or anything like that. The client wants a certain style and theme and it just happens to fit in with what I have seen on fixie sites. I was hoping someone who has been around the scene longer than the 5mins ive been here, had some extra links they could sling my way.
i wish i had a job where i could get people on forums to do it for me for free
Look, I understand this is the interweb and being a tool on a forum is nothing new. However you obviously have no idea of my intentions. If you want to read back I havent asked anyone to do the photos for me, find the talent, locations, draw up schedules, buy me equipment and the list goes on. I simply asked what I thought was a simple and honest question from a community I had gotten them impression of as inclusive and fun.
ok sorry… what was the question again?
ZANG!
just check the Knog and Rapha websites. fyxomatosis also recently did a photoshoot with a similar ‘getting ready’ theme
I saw that one, it’s bloody awesome Knog is one I didnt think about. Have also been to trackasaurusrex and spent half a day there just looking around and reading. Easily the best blog I have ever seen!
Them’s fightin’ words around here…
But on a (less) serious note, I think if you want to give it the Rapha treatment you’re dealing with a bigger picture than just the photoshoot - ie: organise some team kit, organise an event, then shoot it - that’s where you’re going to get your shots. Otherwise it’s just going to be hipsters in alleyways staring wistfully into the depths of a blurry background.
i like chaz’ blog a lot, even though it doesn’t feature any photos of blakey in women’s clothes.
chaz, if you could rectify that asap, that’d be good.
There’s a ‘submit’ link there somewhere Brendan - knock youself out.
Not so much after the action of the Rapha stuff, more the at the coffee shop and hanging around the house getting ready to head out. That is the inspiration I need That trackasaurus blog just has SO much visual stuff on there it is awesome!
What other blogs are worth checking out?
oh ok so you just want someone else to come up with the creative part for free, cool that makes sense because you would be doing everything else
Get two girls, stick em in bike gear and some spray on sweat. Then get them to touch lips over said product. Instant winner with the teen, fixie crowd!
Get two guys, stick em in bike gear and some spray on sweat. Then get them to epic ride said product. Instant winner with the roadie crowd!
a couple of minor suggestions but i think you have nailed it
need pics getting inked up at a filthy tat shop
need pics of blokes shaving their legs in the bath
FTFY

Here’s your concept bro
Get tri model #1 to smash it up beach road on a training ride, tossing bidon into the sea/gutter
then get some bogan in a ute to try and bottle him. This will cost you a box of VB or maybe some red bull and vodkas and a ‘dare’.
Maybe stage a dooring
blood sweat tears and trans-fungus scene frisson. You’ll move said product by the metric fucktonne. Now about my fee.
+1, I’ll play the ‘bogan in a ute’ character.
‘I can’t wait to bottle some leotard wearin’ cyclist ₪₪₪₪, it’ll be fucken awesome’
why don’t you do a story shoot where there are different scenes in some dude’s day of riding his bike around town doing random shit like hanging in graffitied laneways and sitting in front of trendy cafes and talking to other mates who inconspicuously do that very same thing?
Hi all
Here is a link to the brands site with the photos he has used. They were all done on a tight time schedule and with only myself and the ‘models’. There will be more done in the future when we hire a house in France and get a bunch of people together to do a Rapha like shoot.
I like to show the people I am working with the rough idea and direction I want the photos to go in. Easiest way I find, which is why I was after links and ideas etc. Alex calls this being a lazy bastard, honestly I couldn’t give a toss what you think.
This is what I wanted to do, however, I only had between 10-3 to do this shoot and the priorities were some web images more so than a few obscure but very cool pics. I would love to do this one day soon though. Maybe with some people from here
