There are a few of us turning up to cheer and at least a couple mates racing.
Gordy do you have a magenta colored beardo/commuter bike?
I think I saw you in Milton last Friday
Light blue Salsa Casserol Beardo vehicle. Though I was around the Milton area. I was catching up with Grulke, the Brisbane Beardo Guru regarding a new Nitto front rack.
May be it was him I saw.
Could be, he was riding his 650b and I think you have the colour correct.
That was fun, brilliant circuit, deceptive in it’s harshness.
Almost inspired me to get back into some serious training.
Not bad numbers either.
Brilliant work Brad.
See you next time
Was an enjoyable watch well done to organisers and competitors alike. Has inspired me to get myself entered into one of the upcoming events (time to train…)
Archive, Scratch and then cx racing with bells.
The battle between Imogine and Emma was epic.
Sadly had to leave early. That course was fantastic.
Bummed i missed it, I wanted to come but after 6hrs on the bike today i needed a rest
Day was awesome, thanks to Andrew for organising the race and venue.
Thanks have to go to the guys that help setup, do registration, race timing and all the races that hang around at the end for a quick clean up.
Anyone take any pics?
Some here, just a quick few
Awesome day. Loved the battle between Imo and Emma. Trying saying those two names straight after each for half an hour and see how many times you get mixed up.
And running A and B together was a great success too … meant that there was even some congestion on the first lap, which led to some close racing for a while. Until I tired, ha.
Yannick, the youngster who won the Junior race and then raced again in B grade, passed me on the third lap, which led to my favourite heckle of the day. On the short sharp climb, Imogen was there, and she screamed at me: “Andrew!!! You are being beaten by a CHILD!!”
Matt Williams confirmed his status as Qld’s leading CXer, and I will be interested to see if we manage to have a national round in Qld whether he is competitive with those who have been taking it seriously in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide.
Thanks of course to the Qld CX crew, which consists of Brad, Scott, Emma, Simon, Jeremy and Mark. And all those who helped pull the course down. Also thanks to Wests Rugby, which proved to be a really good venue!
My BQ colleague Leah took about 50 pix, mostly of Emma and Imogen. I’ll edit and try to post some.
Word just went on Facebook that the National round for QLD hasn’t been considered.
After how good Saturday was, I am happy to keep doing our own thing.

Did you / someone else in BNE put a bid in for a round? PM me if you want to discuss it. But, you’re right, keep doing what you’re doing, build participation, race quality and the rest will follow.
Who was the bloke in A grade on the SS? Finished 4th i think? Good effort! Was struggling up the lil steep bit
That’s Josh Bosscheiter … has raced in every CX race we’ve had in Qld. I’m pretty sure that’s his commuter bike.
A few shots here, ignore the pub shots at the start
