Bris Cyclocross

Racing AGAIN this weekend. Murrarrie, Saturday afternoon. + dumplings!

Facebook page here: Queensland Cyclocross | Facebook

A few of us will be there with bells.

What time do things start?

Racing from 3pm (juniors), followed by Open, then combined A & B grade. Open should be just that, as last time Open winner Michael has got himself a cx bike and is going to win B grade instead this time. Come and have a RACE!

I’ll be down to watch today.

Saw some good racing today, the dude who won A grade destroyed the field.
The course layout looked good. Great work guys!

Bikes, beer, bells and dumplings.
It was a good day.
Even for Grumpy old men.

I love racing CX. The first couple of laps are the biggest rush. After 10 minutes it feels like you might actually die right there on the course. And then it’s a matter of just maintaining that effort till the end! Easy.

I might be getting in a little early but the last race of the QLD summer series is on this Saturday night. Rego will open at 5pm and the kids race will start soon after.

If we keep this level of rainfall there is I high chance we will get our elusive ‘mud’ race.

The only thing outstanding is catering. If anyone knows of a non-profit club or group that would an opportunity to put on a BBQ and do some fundraising please let me know.

All the details for the race are in my sig or like Queensland Cyclocross on facey.

Brisbane bike polo? I’ve alerted then on the Brisbane polo Facebook page.

^ thanks Dan!

“Not for profit” Those polo creeps spend it all on beer.
Might come watch, I think i will pin a number on sat morn if the rain holds off.

Is anyone riding out there saturday to watch?

Starting a rumour that I heard while out riding this morning … but Brad, is it true that if you wear a funny costume you get to race for free??

Depends on how good the costume is…

There would definitely be a cowbell in it.

In melbourne you can win a frame each round for a funny/rad costume. Ask Tate (aka dfunkt) he is the costume master, and frequently brings multiple costumes for each of his races, as well as a changing area. We have seen some hilarious costumes over the years.

Hit up one of your sponsors with the idea of a best costume prize (or whoever is supplying food/beverage for a free meal/drink).

DDCX - rewarding humour/silliness in cyclocross since 2010.

well it looks like we will get to see/race a wet cx race in Brisbane.

Damn I need a cx bike bad

if you like 60cm bikes, i happen to have a never-ridden disc/canti frame lying about.

How was the racing last night?
I wussed out, too wet to ride there and couldn’t be bothered driving.
