burn city urban aggregate.

I reckon Pierce or Farquason for at least a couple of points in the 3rd or 4th race.

my organisation will support these F.D.O. sanctioned races on the condition that Recumbents or “Long Chains” as they are known colloquially, remain banned for the foreseeable future.

BLAST IT!

there goes my planned recumbent-cat. all racers must have beards, long socks and sandals. there was to be a prize for ‘best flag’…

i thought it was going to be the best thing since the last time linus torvalds visited town…

to add context to brendans first remarks…
apparently in sydney they have a jersey that is passed between winners of each race. you win, you get the jersey.

you win again, you keep it. you lose… you hand it on…

i think this idea has merit… if only as a less serious recognition of peoples skills, luck and participation.

no major prizes… or too much of a big deal.

those who have been to roller racing know that handicapping plays a big part in the final results. those who have been in alleycats know that luck is important (but not everything).

and those that have entered enough races know that rarely do you see all the same people.

ive been in something like 5 alleycats since ive been here and brendan has raced in 2 (maybe) and won one. he’s on a 50% attendance rate for rolleracing as well.

my feeling is that if it is listed on fixed.org.au’s homepage then its an ‘official event’.

anyone who takes it too seriously is up for a points docking

my guess is that it will happen if its formalised or not… it seems like most citiies ive seen with regular races end up having informal/drunken discussion about who the ‘fastest’ rider in the city is. this way theres some formalisation of points.

what you also find is that ‘fastest’ riders often handicap themselves by putting on their own events… thus they dont get points.

the jersey in sydney is for the first place courier - even if they dont finish the race first.

“I’m not even supposed to be here today!”

I literally nearly sliced some recumbent riding worn-out-til-seethrough Lycra™ wearing pedophile last week in town, seriously, I’m tall enough on the bike too see over cars and still couldn’t see this guy, they are SO DAMN DANGEROUS, I feel sorry for people in cars that feel guilty when they collect these dudes when there is NO CHANCE that they could see them because they’re hiding somewhere between the axle and wheel arch level, McSigh! Share the roads and ride to be seen I say. Cars, trucks, motorbikes, cyclists and pedestrians, I love them all and we can share

haha, dope… I have my tomato ready for the next RMS visit…

Peace
