A combination of missing my old caad and giving my team bike back meant I needed a new bicycle.
Really struggled to find a cheap used model with fully external cables, finally came across this though.
I am enjoying the 10 speed 105 far more than the red 22 I had been riding. I put my wheels, bars, stem and saddle on. Those deda newton deep bars are the best traditional shaped bar I have used so far. Also, there is a sticker on my stem which I like. Quarq so I can accurately judge how slow I am. Oh and the fork is actually quite yellow/uv damaged, didn’t show up in the photo though. Might paint strip frame and paint the fork, maybe. Can’t wait to race some crits this summer.
I really like these rigs and really like the dale hollow gram cranksets. Hard for a bike not to look rad with a 130mm stem-slamich hey. Also some S-Jerks mechanic I used to know told me that if you gotta go SRAM the Force YAW FD is where it’s at.
Close but not actually slammed, got a little 5mm spacer under there!
I’d be interested to ride force and see if the FD is any better. My issue with the red yaw fd was it seemed to need constant tuning, one day it’d work fine the next it’d be dropping the chain constantly.
EDIT: You have a good eye for judging stem length, spot on.
I’ve always had similar issues with my SRAM stuff (Rival on one bike, Apex on another). It’s like the fd is in a constant state of flux…working/not working/tuned/not working half a ride after being tuned/working ok for months after another tune lol. Having said that though, I’ve rarely dropped chains, it’s mainly just been minor niggling stuff like chain rub and poor shifts etc.
Anyway, nice CAAD10. I reckon I’m gonna pull the trigger on one this summer too. Time to have a crack at some crits.
Noticed that there’ll be a CAAD12 out soon too. Disc model and all.
