Some of the stock parts on it are rubbish - namely the cranks and BB with plastic cups and shithouse pedals and white bar tape and…and… I got the 2010 model which was the last of the handmade in USA Cannondales (as they are now made in Taiwan) but it had some good Cinelli parts and Mavic Ellipse wheelset standard so no complaints there.
The frame itself is just as good as the original CAAD3 and 4 track bikes but they use Optimo CAAD5 tubing on the Capos which means they are slightly stiffer but the geometry is pretty much exactly the same as the original Tracks (and I used to ride one on the boards back in the late 90’s and it feels the same).
But yeah I’ve had about 6 Cannondales in my lifetime and this one is no different: stiff, responsive and light as wank! I’d say the only downside to the frame itself is the ease of denting the thing. Oversized alloy tubing can be partial to dents if you crash it or get hit by a car…which I have become pretty fucking good at.
Late to the party but have similar feedback to clownshoes. Had the 07 or 08 model (not sure which) with the matte black. The season before they bought out the red with white fork. Anyhow, frame is quality as you’ll expect from a CAAD but the parts were indeed rubbish. Pretty much upgraded everything except the frame within the first 3 months. BB was probably the worst. Ran a UN26 or some other low end Shimano from memory which felt like riding sandpaper.
