Wait, why would you buy a Paul hanger and a shim when you could a) buy a Paul that clamps directly to the quill stem or b) save money and buy a Giant, I mean, any old black alloy steerer hanger.

I kind of forgot that they made a 1" clamp on hanger.
You can have the hanger I got from Blakey if you want, nothing special but it works. Then you are a shim away from being able to use it.
EDIT: Never mind, it isn’t clamp on. Buy a TCX.
But seriously, I’ll either get the Paul one that clamps onto the stem for $50, or get a shim and get a cheaper one that is 1 1/8" and run that.
And then I’ll sacrifice the bike to the steel gods and buy a Crux with disc brakes.
