My trusty old carabiner that was free with dirt bag magazine died last week RIP.
Looking at getting a nice one to replace it.
Any recommendations?

S-Biner Carabiners are getting around lately, have a look at them?
I had one of these til I got my Sizemore one.

I have one. Never liked it for day-to-day use. It does have a built in bottle opener though, so that’s pretty good.

I really like these - thin gauge aluminium with a brass swivel. No springs that break like alu ones, and they look better over time with use. Cheap too.
bro that’s titanium bro, like a jet plane bro, from russia bro. #EDC bro, have you seen my tactical flashlight?
but fuck if I’m going to unscrew that every time I want to take my keys on/off a loop.
what about a tactical titanium comb?

totally tactical.
fuck tactical, strategic comb or GTFO
How often do you change your keys? I clip it onto a larger carabiner on my bag when they don’t just go into my pocket.
Perhaps have swivelled that thing open a handful of times over a year or so.
Oh, see you’re using it as a keyring, not a quick disconnect carabiner, which is what the OP appears to want.

Dun see no quick disconnect carabiner specification.
if you really want to split hairs…
"A carabiner or karabiner is a metal loop with a spring-loaded gate used to quickly and reversibly connect components, "
By that definition, yours isn’t a carabiner as it’s screw open/close only, no spring gate. Or is there, I can’t see it?
Just go full hog and get Atwood to make you something
Splitting more hairs this depends on the definition used, or creedence of popular usage.
Can you show me a definition that doesn’t include a gate?
I tried GISing carabiner and gave up trying to find a gate free one after a few hundred photos.
“A coupling link with a safety closure, used by rock climbers.”

…and from everyones favourite holy grail of knowledge, Wikipedia:
Locking
Locking carabiners have the same general shape as non-locking carabiners but have an additional mechanism securing the gate…
Screw-lock: Have a threaded sleeve over the gate which must be engaged and disengaged manually. They have fewer moving parts than spring-loaded mechanisms, are less prone to malfunctioning due to contamination or component fatigue, easier to employ one-handed. They, however, require more total effort and are more time-consuming than twist-lock.
