another vote for assos, but winter riding it’s a bit crap because of the cooling sensation.
Aussie but cream fades after a while and don’t smell like the rest, rapha is aight but too expensive (at least not as easy to get on special as assos)
Have also used the morgan blue stuff and it’s wayyyy too thick, lasts a while but doesn’t keep the chamois in as nice a condition as the assos.
I also just remembered i have some euro chamois cream en route as part of a bike24 order. partly to see what the belgies/germans rate and partly because the translation of the product on the site was funny.
Just stumbled upon this thread now… a good chuckle for sure.
Was someone serious when they say they use Bonjela on their old boy?! WOW!!
… How about Euky Bearub? anyone?
Sudocrem as chamois cream seems weird to me. Its more of a treatment for rash isn’t it? But can see how that’d work.
As for me I’ve had some wicked sweat rashes in me clefts from full day rides, so I’ve been using Neat 3B stuff for the past few years (only really for 4hr+ rides and when its really wet). Its pretty cheap and you can get it from the local pharmacy and works well enough for me … and the TV Ad is really odd which is an added bonus.
And on the topic of Sudocrem. You (dads) seen this? :
I think people are putting what works well when riding, and then what works well post ride, even though OP wanted to know about chamois cream specifically. I’d say it’s all good reading both, during ride and post ride treatments.
Paw paw is great for lots of things but I’m pretty sure most of them use a petroleum base,
Not sure if I would want to fill my chamois with it.
I would imagine a water soluble would be better.
Thanks, I gathered that. For clarification Neat 3B is an anti-chafing gel/cream (preventitive). Sudocrem is a for once you’ve rubbed yourself raw, cos you didn’t use chamois cream. I agree sudocrem works well for that.
Holy shit. A few months back some friends of ours came over for a dinner and they put their kids to sleep in our room. The little buggers found a (thankfully smaller) tub of sudocream and did the exact same thing.
Yep. Morgan Blue (solid, not the cream). Have used just about everything over the years & rate the Morgan’s solid over all others for persistent lubiness. Paw paw cream or bepanthen if I’m caught without my Morgan’s, or for the rare chafing/saddle sore.
