Contour Roam GPS Camera editing

I have had a Contour GPS camera for a while but never really bothered playing with it after a ride.
Mainly using it for cheap insurance against motorists.

Has anyone else used it, more so I want to play around and edit some videos.
Instead of having a 1hr long video, edit to the 35 secs I want etc.

I can only see it will upload to YouTube or F/Book your whole video.
But as you can imaging its mega GB’s especially if I have recoreded in HD.

It only allows you to view & download it in the ‘Contour Storyteller’.

I guess if I can somehow get it to Windows movie maker or similar or onto my HD I can edit it.

Surely their is a simpler way??

Please let me know if anyone has had experience with this…

Use the ‘Storyteller’ to download the video, then go and find the file in the directory.
you should be able to open it up using whatever software you wish to edit it with.

NB: I have the Roam, and have uploaded a few files to youtube manually, but am yet to do any editing of my vids.

I have a GoPro, and I just pop the SD card out and put it in my PC, then find and copy the files I want. No proprietary software then.

How about converting them to a different file.
I am using windows movie maker but get this msg:

The file C:\Documents and Settings\sales_3\Desktop\FILE0001-3.MOV is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker.

When you connect it to your PC, you should be able to open the files directly off the camera in ‘my computer’ and copy-paste them into another folder and open them with whatever program you wish. It seems to work for me.
