Current rides

Was taking some pictures for the record, so figured I’d post 'em up. I’m a family-man now, so I’m keeping things simple with two bikes – one for the daily commute, and one for the weekend – and I’m feeling pretty settled with these two as they are.

Commuter

KHS Flite 100 frameset
Miche cranks & BB, CycleUndeground chainring, EAI Superstar cog, KMC Z510HX chain
Velocity Deep V + Formula wheelset with Durano Plus tyres
Thomson stem, seatpost, seatclamp, alloy Cinelli pista drops, Regal saddle, MKS pedals
SKS Chromoplastics (fit with 23c front and 25c back and a Miche longreach brake)

Pretty solid and reliable commuter. The Flite serves well with reasonably tight track geometry but just fits the fenders (and has fender eyelets). Drivetrain works real nice. CU + Superstar + Z510 HX = smooth and silent.

Weekender

Chinese carbon frame (FM-028 from Dengfu)
Chorus 11 groupset
Easton EA90 SL wheelset
Easton EC70 bars, EC90 seatpost, Ritchey WCS stem, Prologo Scratch Nack saddle, Look Keos

Pretty light and climbs well. The FM-028 has a slight sportive geometry, but I don’t race, don’t really like punching fast runs on the flats and like long solo rides in the mountains, so it suits me just fine. Very happy with the Dengfu frame, which kept the total build to around $1800 (with a fair bit of patience).

would you recommend the deng fu frame? ive been looking to replace my current road frame with a budget carbon job.

Yep. I’ve only done around 850km on it, but I like it. I think some other users on here have Dengfu or Hongfu frames and also like theirs. Read the carbon ebay threads over on roadbikereview … heaps of information.

thanks will do.

Hey diddy, i know this was a while ago but this is the first khs flite I’ve seen online with wrap around mudguards. what size frame is this bike and what is the specification on the guards, if you could answer would be much appreciated!

They are pretty decent for the price. My housemate has a cross bike of theirs and he has thrashed it for 2 years or so. I just got a fork from them and its value imo is way better than buying anything stateside even with the shitty dollar.
