love it.
anyone have experience with this seller?
I have. The sellers regularly post on a classic bike forum I read and are good people’s.
Shipping from France isn’t fast but fast enough. They are also a charitable group and move/on sell a lot of bikes given as donations.
It’s a beautiful looking frame. Just make sure you establish if it’s a french threaded BB. If so, it might be tricky to find modern BB options for current cranks.
good point. see what info i can find.
she’s mine! thanks for posting scott.
couldn’t find out for sure about that BB. it’s a relatively recent frame (130mm spacing) so the chances are that’s it’s ISO. headset is also odd, but this d.cattin seemed keen on them from the few other pics i’ve seen.
will post further details once its landed.
Cool !!
Look forward to seeing this built up.
You lucky prick! Great buying:)
Depending on what group you wanna run here is a french superbe BB for cheap
Edit Adrian’s a dick cause he didnt see the last post saying all items are sold
thanks anyhow! think i’m going modern for this.
nice purchase! bit jealous
Velo Orange sell a new, sealed bearing french threaded BB. Not sure how many lengths are available however.
will give you first dibs if i’m ever selling.
great, will keep that one in mind.
that is a rad frame/fork, nice work!
Taker your time with regard matching the right BB length to cranks you intend to use. Velo Orange themselves have useful info but don’t particularly mention that all of the BB’s they offer are symmetrical. OK for most modern, not as ideal for most older cranks which were designed for use with an offset for the driver side.

You’ll be fine
… I look forward to seeing this built up. It’s got win all over it.
thanks for that young spirito. just heard back from mr cattin himself, and it’s an ISO standard BB which makes life easier. frame was built in 1987, which was clearly a good year as the blue boys took home the vfl premiership (go team), and also i went on a family holiday to queensland. fun times.
can’t speak highly enough about the seller. as spirito mentioned, they are a charitable organisation:
Reperages is a non-profit organization. 80 % of the 3,500 bicycles collected each year are sent to Burkina Faso or Mali and provides 40 work places for disabled people in Africa as well as much needed transportation. Reperages also provides 13 work positions for disabled and disadvantaged people in France. Each purchase you make supports a special project, and may be tax deductable.
so it’s guilt free bike purchases. doin’ it for the cause!
also, postage was cheaper than listed (came to less than AU$100), and should only take a week apparently.
now… who’s got some shamals they want to sell me?
I like this frame
What are your plans period groop or modern.
going to go modern for this build. maybe something like this:
groupset campagnolo athena 11 speed alu - Eqip.co - Triathlon Store
but not sure if my budget will allow it.
Yeah that’s the last of the alloy groups and would look real nice.
Have not seen 11 speed with Shamals but I think Dan at shifter can do a conversion.
for reference haha.
So much win. This story gets even better.
I’ve built a few with Athena silver groups and it’s nice stuff. You can get cheaper but I trust Ben at Velomine and he turns stuff around pretty quick.

I’ve also built and ridden the Veloce 10 speed current groupset. It’s not as nicely finished but you wouldn’t know unless you had them in your hands to compare. You can get the whole group in Silver if you look around and 10 speed chain and cassette’s are a lot cheaper than the 11 speed (which is Chorus and is what is used with Athena 11).
I think it’s good bang for buck.
Velocity also do Campy splined cassette hubs and as pre built wheels too. I think the basic level hub probably looks nicer than the premium hub (but that just my opinion). With A23’s rims it’s a lot of wheel for the $'s.
There’s good options if your on a budget and If it were for me, and a regular rider I’d be cheapo and go 10 speed Veloce because chain and cassette’s will be $45 & $80, rather than the 11 speed $90 & $140.
