Cool vid Luke, I was stoked upon immediately recognising the Mogwai track…
It sucks about the lost footage. What camera did you shoot on?
thanks was a fun day, back brake would have come in handy…
using sturmey archer 3 speed hub and belt drive.
thanks to all on the hill for the jeers and heckles every time i ran the hill… made it all the moar sweet when i did finally ride it! i love that hill.
i should probably go and say g’day to Ross and thank him for his aero-helmet goodness on sunday. made him easy to spot and easier to heckle…
That’s a rad little video Luke! Shame about the lost footage but great work on making use of what you had. That first barrier hop shot was sick!
My photos are now up. Turned out better than I expected thankfully. Head over to my Facebook page if you wanna check them all out: http://bit.ly/ddcx14rnd1

They’re ace Rooster.
Really, really like them.
eleventy billion cameras at HSV and not one seems to have captured the dramatic crash that decided the elite men’s race.
classic ddcx.
I was there man; happened right in front of me! Maybe I’ll draw a picture…
i would to like to see this. i heard the reaction it generated from very deep in the box i was at that point inhabiting. i figured something big had happened at the pointy end of the race or ‘fancypants’ terry had done something even funnier than before.
also - rooster, if those shots arent good to you, then im worried for your standards. theres some more great work from you in there…
here here
I don’t know who did the race report, which claimed the cause of the crash was unknown, but AJ took total responsibility afterwards, and even made jokes about it on the podium. He apparently clipped the barrier, hit the deck and took Alby with him. Redenbach reckoned he missed Alby’s wheel by an inch.
from my vantage point (Pavlis’ Hill) it looked like AJ binned it AoverT, Alby tried to stop/manoeuvre around him but was too close and binned it on top, and with Paul being that bit behind had more time to react and avoid.
That’s exactly how I saw it. I can vividly picture picture Alby realising the inevitable; that there was nothing he could do but land right on top of AJ. Also, Redenbach was running late for the race and had to cut across the course to get to the start.
P.S. - I don’t know who Alby, AJ and Redenbach are.
yes please
that’s enough info, surely! time to open up MS Paint and get drawing!
^ Wow. It’s like being there.
Yeah. I’m pretty talented eh.
