East Coast camping suggestions....

yeah looks pretty steep unfortunately, might give it a miss. i feel like there’s gonna be a million different amazing lookouts, might head to an easier option.

this looks pretty great, reckon i’ll give this a crack. would this be a decent slice of the blue mountains? i’d like to spend a week or so there, but that’s not gonna be this trip.

i haven’t got a winch or anything, reckon it’d be doable even if it’s been a bit wet? keen to have a go anyway and i think the link suggests calling the national park beforehand to double check track conditions, guess they’ll be able to tell me…

thanks mate

have done this “walk”. it is spectacular, but there’s a lot of it that involves climbing up ladders.

ok, so what about this:

21st - leave Croajingolong and head to Middle Beach campground in Mimosa Rocks NP
22nd - head north and have a drink in bermagui on the way through for William, stop for an arvo coffee in Tilba (do you guys mean Tilba Tilba? couldn’t find Tilba (singular) on Gmaps…?)
stay at Nth Head campground in Murramarang NP.
23rd - stay another night at the Nth Head campground…? somewhere else?

this is about as far as i’ve got with this, so how does it sound? too rushed? good? skipping something awesome? about right?

i’m kinda trying to get to sydney for the long weekend to see ppl, but also want to make sure i’m making the most of the time before then. i guess, if i’m honest, arriving halfway through the long weekend would be ok, JDL just might get a little sad…

trying to do this with a hangover is tough.

thanks all for your input. ezy, quality post once again. thumbsup.jpg

this is probably no good

Tilba Tilba is the same as Tilba. Like Wagga Wagga is the same as Wagga.

I would maybe stay one night at Durras, then travel up the coast a bit to stay around the Jervis Bay area. That way you take your time up that coastal part and not rushing from Durras to Sydney.

ok cool, i’ll tackle that tomorrow with fresh eyes (i’ve got about 8 tabs open all with different maps etc, my brain hurts).

Your brain hurts because you ate a dim sim.

two.

Haha, I saw the title of the thread and I thought that I’ll just add my little bit of advice about this nice secret little spot just north of Tathra, but it looks like the entire freakin universe knows about it.

Nevermind, just go there before they build a 5 star resort.

skip nth head.

Pebbly beach. very reminiscent of wilsons prom.

Skip Jervis Bay and go to Huskisson, such a nice area.

Jervis Bay, Vincentia, Huskisson… All the same area really

nope, nope, nope - different areas.

You are on crack.

Huskisson, Vincentia, Hyams Beach are all accessed via the same road from the princes hwy - and are part of Jervis Bay. Hyams Beach to Huskisson is like a 10min drive. Are we talking about the same place?

Huskisson is part of the Jervis Bay Marine Park, but a separate town/village/whatever to Jervis Bay. Huskisson locals are quick to separate themselves as being from Jervis Bay (well the guys I work with that live there do  ).

Anyway… carry on.

There is an old couple in Huskisson that have set up their front porch as a place to sell their home made jams. Highly recommend.

EDIT: In trying to find the address, I found out they no longer operate. It was really good.

why not stay at north head? or are you saying to stay at pebbly beach instead?

pebbly beach looks like it’s going to be packed as it appears to have full amenities (showers, drinking water etc).

TC - i’ve never been to wilsons prom.

slight change of plans…

rather than try and fight for a spot on the coast during school holidays and over a long weekend, i’m gonna head to kosciuszko NP and camp somewhere remote for a day or two. then head to CBR/Blue Mtns/Sydney before heading south along the coast after the hoards have hopefully dissipated.

might stay 2 nights in kosciuszko, so any tips for great lookouts etc would be appreciated.

plan is to stay somewhere along the Barry Way south of Jindabyne for the first night.

Thredbo diggings is a cool, free place to camp right on the river - or there is another free campsite at Islands Bend closer to perisher. Otherwise i think you can camp around dead horse gap which is just further on from Thredbo.

You can ride to Kosciuszko from charlottes pass - more fun than walking and not too steep so your knee should be fine.

I was considering heading to Jindabyne for a night that weekend and doing some road riding.
Rolly, would you be opposed to the possibility of a little FOA company?
