External bearing track cranks?

Are there any external bearing bottom bracket track specific cranks?

Have you heard of GOOGLE sir :?

Only one- SRAM Omnium crankset. Meant to be nice and stiff.
Not the biggest fan of SRAM/Truvativ, but external BB is a good idea for track cranks.
If only Shimano updated their aging 7600 track cranks to external BB…

SRAM Omnium

Yeah I just found those… has anyone got any additional feedback on these? I don’t remember truvatic being anything special.

I seem to remember saying that same thing to someone else not long ago!

I saw those ones on Prolly… never heard of Andel… so they must be really good.

There are a few… mostly no-namers or ‘unknowners’ like Andel… the only brand namers seem to be the SRAM Omnium as Horatio mentioned.

I ran some basic square taper Andel on my first build and they were equally as good as any vintage style stuff. Nowhere near as stiff as my 7710 but for $100 i couldn’t complain, the chainring was even round

Andel a big company that maunfactures stuff for other companies to put their logo on, the cranks i have are the same as the Alien and Pake. Just without the name. The Truvativ are probably going to be a much better finish and stiffer, but for the $ I’ll bet the Andel are pretty good.

Problem with both cranks is they don’t go with much apart from modern Al frames cause they’re so BEEFY.

1: that’s what I meant by really good! :stuck_out_tongue:

2: no problem, that’s what they’ll be going on
