Oh well, a watched a bit. Egypt were better from what I saw, however I have no clue. A penalty shoot out is a crap finish.
Saw it on the replay. Our goal in regular time prior to the penalty shootout (or whatever you call it) was a header by an Egypt player.
That guy will be very happy with the result!

I think the ‘simulation’ (as they like to call it) has been lessened this World Cup after they introduced a new rule that says if you’re down for more than 60s, you have to leave the pitch for at least 60s. So, while they do still flail about & carry on, there’s less ability to just lay down & play hurt until the ref stops the match.
I reckon it’s helped. Still fuckin annoying though.

Getting to the pointy end now. Would love to see Belgium get over Spain and Norway over England, which are both feasible going on current form. Morocco over France would be a massive upset, which isn’t entirely out of the realms of possibility, either. Some cracking weekend viewing.
Caught the end of Spain v Belgium before Le Tour highlights this am. It wasn’t bad.
