first fixie

Yo I sorry to bring this up again but ive stumbled across the JustRideIt.com.au bikes and they seem to have it on lock, I’ve researched abit looking at the Fuji Feather and the State 4130 Core Line bikes and then came across JRI. is it just me or are the bikes comparable to there predecessors for the cash?

examples…

check it out, the ones that stood out for me were…

Cujo Pro - $599
JRI Dark matter - $899
Europa - $899
T6 Low Pro - $999
JRI Street Bike - $999

I was going off Statebicycle.com website to get a 4130 Core Line for $450 US which ended up to be with shipping around $1200 and can get one for $899 in my Cycle shop here in Perth. Then I came across JRI … I won’t keep asking for assistance after this one lol, I’m pretty sure, pretty sure ive covered all that you can get in Australia and these at JRI seem welcoming if not then I shall stick to the 4130 State Core Line for $899 or the Fuji Feather for $849 locally. I know I said I would stick to my instinct and go with what I want but I had to get a second opinion and as ive pretty much cleaned up on the net searching for fixies in Aust… I don’t think there’s many left out there lol.

Also… YESBIKES.COM.AU
Carbon Forks! sealed bearings! etc etc

$749 AUD

sorry last post promise.

JRI are shithouse. The cheap ones are all hi-ten with an alloy fork, gonna ride reeeaaalll nice.

Just buy this: https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/halls-head/men-s-bicycles/scwinn-sprint-fixed-gear-54cm-medium/1212727334 It’ll be 10 times better than anything triple the price which means you come out approximately 5 times ahead.

do this.

jase knows what’s up & has probably built 1000 bikes in that price range that’ve been better than a JRI option.

this thread is pretty close to being locked. if you want something that looks cool & is colour matched without having to wait for all the bits to appear online, get the one you like the look of the most. if you like the look of it, you’ll probably love it & wanna ride it. but like i said in my previous post, just be aware you’ll probably have to replace or upgrade as you go. all part of the process & you might love it. but you also might be pissed off & wonder why your $1000 bike needs parts replaced or weighs 15kgs once it arrives.

but seriously, every person here has said secondhand or named options other than the ones you seem excited about. re-read diddy’s advice right back at the start & then make a decision.

or do what heavymetal said & ask jaseyjase for advice on how to spray a frame matte black.

then you’ve got the look you want on a bike that doesn’t suck.

Also before this gets locked pls do yourself a favour and build a fixed conversion out of an 80’s road bike, grind all the extraneous lugs off and do your full fixie-come-roadie-come-cyclocross-come-gravel overnighter-come-mountain biker evolution.

said it before but ill say it again, I miss 2009.

Can still hear the soft jangling of carabiners in the air.

It’s been a while fixed.org

Glad to see nothing’s changed.

only thing remaining on my mind is should I risk alloy for the comfort of 4130

26 posts and you’re still deciding on frame material.

I think we’re being trolled.

Bargain Soma rush in Brunswick. 10x better than any of the new bikes you’ve linked to.

If you don’t buy this, I’ll call the cops on you.

Yeah yeah it’s a 57cm but if you can ride a drop bar 55cm bike you can ride a 57 flat bar bike

We’ve been abandoned…

I had no choice

You’re not very good at choices
