The days of Smith Street Nike being filled with Nike SB, those days bring a tear to my eye.
Nike outlet at South Wharf and Bundoora are now run as a regular store it seems. No super crazy bargains, and all the good stuff never seems to make it there, and if it does it is barely reduced. booooo.
The place to be is their Friends/Family store at their office in Abbottsford. I’ve only been once but will be there in the next couple of weeks. Will report any goodness.
There was a skate outlet store just down from it that always had insane deals, few good bookshops too.
I’m there a minimum each month…

Everybody needs a pair of Ultra Boosts. Adidas is absolutely killing it at the moment. These shoes are the most comfortable things I’ve ever worn.

i also played in the penny 1s and loved em heaps, so light!
i bought the penny 3s thinking theyd be as good, but they turned out to be way heavier and chunky
Next faves to play in were the CB34s.
Family when to the states at the end of 1993 and picked these up, these were probably my first proper ball shoes i was able to ‘choose’.
First pair of shoes I totally wore out playing was a pair of Converse Triple Double, my main shoes in about 93 (Pic is not actually mine, just a random web find). These things were great. Wish I still had them, they were super comfortable.
I somehow conned my parents into buying these for me as a kid. In the kid’s model the Air was only in a small window. I think they still cost $180 back then!

sb 720’s. i’ve had a few sb’s for work, but these 720’s seemed to fit better. weird, but the feet don’t lie. went thru two pairs, but they’re just silly coin nowadays. street shoes are dunlop volleys coz straya cnt, or black shelltoes, coz rock a rhyme. i’m not a sneakerhead. obvs
