I had this exact pair when i was ~13, skated them until the soles fell off!
Was just discussing appropriate leg coverage for aging dads like us with a co-worker the other day.
Skinny legged black jeans were laughed out of the room due to having actual legs and not twigs
Chino’s were too daggy.
Rip Curl Trackies were for home wear only.
Cargo pants seemed to be the only legit sugegstion.
Surely it can’ all rely on cargos?
Surely there’s a middle ground between jeggings for arseless teenagers and horrible stonewash dad jeans…right?
Look up Jogger Pants…Mr Simple are the ones I wear.
Chuck Norris Action Pants
skinny chinos?
Uniqlo, Black, Straight leg (or Dickies or Carhartt)
I love looking (cringing) back at photos of me in my mid teens with insanely tight cheap monday jeans on haha.
i just coffed up for these by Creux. I love their stuff, hate their prices, but, honestly their gear is worth it… pants & shorts anyway. Dickies are also great, never tried Carhartt but I’m gonna need a second pair…
make sure you get the ‘fashion’ carhartt not the workingmans carhartt if you want office attire.
workingsman carhartt is crazy tough (think hard yakka) but has super wide fits.
slim/skinny chinos arent daggy anymore geoff (or maybe they havent hit QLD yet). but i’ll second seans recommendation for straight leg slim pants from uniqlo/asos/dickies
Carhartt Sid pants are killer. I’ve had my grey pair for about 6 years now, they are slim but not too skinny, easy to wear with a shirt for work purposes or a tee and sneaks for weekend relaxed times. They are comfy, have just the right amount of stretch and hold their shape well. I personally hate jogger pants, if you can’t pin roll/cuff your own pants, you need to take a good hard look at yourself or forget about exposing your ankles to the world. Also Chinos are rad and totally on point, just have to be the right cut. They will never be out of fashion because they are a staple of any mans wardrobe.
I recently discovered Dickies regular fit shorts, they are tonnes better than the common loose fit. I think I’ll grab a pair of their pants, I assume a pretty straight leg. Most chinos are too baggy in the legs for me, might have to loose the gut to go down a size.
Dickies only have a few washes worth of wear before they become too ‘worker’ for the office.
I usually wear a brand new pair if I want to wear Dickies in the office. I do like when they are starchy and stiff as well.
^ Going to look into those Carhatt pants. Sound like my ideal pair.
Also, I’ve always been a big fan of Air Max 95’s. Always was super jealous of the kids that had them in school when I was in Year 3… still burned in my mind 21 years later.
Anyway, when they were re-released I finally got to try a pair on and they looked ridiculous on the end of my slim pins lol
Just stumbled across these. I need them. halp.
^ yes yes.
im more a 93 man
Got these today…
Woof!
My 4 pairs of skinny fit disagree (i think i have every colour?). But would agree that the ‘brightness’ does go after a year or so (earlier than some others). I have a blue pair that are still pretty solid in colour after 3+ years of regular wear.
the best were some wrangler slim dress pants i had (straight from a proper cowboy store in calgary). those things only started to pill after 5+years and hadnt even faded slightly, no sign of the dreaded office chair sheen either.
thinking back i remember the ‘standard fit’ dickies (as is available here) not holding colour as well and being retired early for ‘shorts duty’.
Can’t help but a family got me some from America when I was a kid and they hadn’t released here. That was a momentous occasion for me. Nowadays I don’t wear much other than Vans and Adidas Sambas, but AM1’s are my all time fave. 90’s are okay but not as nice a silhouette as AM1’s in my opinion. 93’s are killer as well and surely Persian BW’s are a classic. 180’s are also pretty sweet. 95’s remind me too much of TN’s which reminds me too much of the delinquent youths I work with and ‘Lad’ culture - which seems so bizarre to me.
