Fixed Wheel Bikes

Hi all,
I am urgently looking to purchase a fixed wheel bike (ideally with a flip flop hub) and am struggling to find stockists in Perth (WA). Having moved recently from the UK where they are readily stocked in most bike shops I thought it would be the same here. Can anyone recommend a stockist with a range of fixed wheel roadbikes in Perth so I can check them out.

Apologies if this question has been asked by someone else recently.

Thanks

might want to ask this in the Perth section.

But where are you looking/where are you located?

I can’t speak for any retailers in perth but you could check out cell bikes online Best Road Bikes for the Money Sydney Bike Shop For Your City Bike, Road Bike, Mountain Bike, Fixed Gear Bike and Bike Parts

they have a decent range of fixed/ss bikes for decent prices.

use the search function on the forums here and google for bike stores in your area. a bit of investigating on your part will no doubt yield results

Thanks,
I am located in Perth. I looked in a shop near my home and then checked a shop called ‘fleet cycles’ but they had none either. I am seeing a lot of signle speeds around so am assuming that there are a couple of shops that stock them in or around Perth.

Cheers

haha…i meant where in perth dude. north, south , city etc…

Sorry mate, not with the programme there…

I am North of the river just outside the city.

Cheers

Elite cycles in Northbridge or Rider’s choice in Leederville can probably sort you out.

Try ‘Ideal Cycles’, at 370 South Street in O’Connor, which is down Fremantle way. As far as I can recall they have lots of fixed gear and single speed stuff. Give them a call on 9337 7670.

‘Canning Bridge Cycles’, at 886 Canning Hwy in Applecross (near Canning Bridge, surpisingly), also had some fixed gear bikes when I looked there about a year ago. You can call them on 9364 1733.

‘Cyclemania’ is my LBS, and they’re nice blokes They are at 433 Charles St in North Perth. You can call them on 9444 3483. I know they’ve got some SS/FG bikes. According to their website (at » Cyclemania ) they have at least a Felt Broughman (at $759), an Avanti Salt ($699.99) and an Avanti Pepper ($999.99) currently in stock.

As Jenno has already said, ‘Elite Racing Cycles’ at the corner of Beaufort Street & Newcastle St in Northbridge are also a good bet. You can call them on 1300 785 552. According to their website (at Welcome to Elite Racing Cycles, Perth, Western Australia ) they have a Surly Steamroller (49cm - $1,299), a Hillbrick Track Bike (53cm - $1,199) and a Hillbrick Carbon Track Frame (52.5cm - $2,600) in stock.

Thanks for the advice/Information. I will check them out over the weekend

Have a good one.

cycles bespoke in bayswater (google the address) will always give good service and have a decent range of bikes, parts and acccessories.

I have found a shop that has a ‘Masi Speciale Fixed Drop’. Does anyone have any thoughts on this brand as I am not familiar with it. Any feedback/review information would be appreciated.

Cheers

yep, they are fine, as long as you aint forking out big brass.

I have found one for 849 on special offer for a 2010 model.

I thought this was reasonable but wasn’t sure of the build quality etc…

I can’t vouch personally, but I know people that have them, and are more than happy. I’d pay that price, but there are some that wouldn’t.

AS previously mentioned, Ideal Cycles on South Street in O’Connor have heaps of fixed gear/single speed bikes for sale, as well as any parts you may need. Great service there as well.

I recently bought a Masi Speciale Fixed Drop 2010 and yep, i’m very happy with it - seems like a solid bike and although its my first road bike/single speed, it seems like a very nice place to start for me

Yo man,
there a couple shops, in morley there is greg stoyles where you can pick up some fixies, and also on charles street in Mt Hawthorn.
In perth there arent many fixie riders, its all very new to perth. but if you need any help send me an email.

ive seen a shitload. not as many as sydney of course. ive only been in WA a month. but rarely a day goes by where i dont see at least one in the city/up to mt lawley area.

How Come?
