lets do this up here before it gets too cold eh?
i will bring said fgfs wheelie machine running a rather small 50something GI in the transport vehicle for wheelies (yes they’re called wheelies not mono’s Blakey!) in the evening once peeps have arrived at camp.
bump.
i’m ideally going to be getting supplies for this this coming weekend, so if people are keen to do a “show of hands” prior to buying a ticket, that’d be swell.
get a group of mates, beg/steal/borrow a tent and a sleeping bag and you’re good to go! i’m really looking forward to hitting up the O’Shannassy Aqueduct Trail as it’s really mellow (once you’ve climbed up to it) and rather beautiful from what i’ve been told.
did i mention the campsite has hot showers? oh, i did? HOT SHOWERS!!!
I cannot attend sadly.
So if anyone I’ve met in real life wants to go but has no camping biz I can hook you up with a Tent, mat and bag.
You’d have to pick ti up by this monday the 22nd.

waddaguy!!
sucks about your shoulder
are you NZ bound in the meantime?
Yup off to Aotearoa.
Camping kit has been taken, beardo enabling done.
Also the campsite has fire pits to use!
Sometimes there is free wood from the rangers…
wood
I did the ride with MikeD last year. Fucking rad times.
One important thing to note is the gate to the Upper Yarra Reservoir Park closes at 6pm.
You need a code to get in after that. The nice people at the Reefton pub will tell you that code!
Also, there’s a massive all weather shelter / food hall at the park, which could easily sleep about 100 people. So if you don’t have a tent, just sneak in there!
Here’s some pics of O’Shannassy Aqueduct and the reservoir I took on our trip.
I HAVE THE CODE!!
Thanks Mik, that’s awesome, that first picture looks unreal!!!
There ya go folks, no reason not to come, shelter if it rains, mik said pub in his post and LOOK AT THAT FIRST PICTURE, HOW COULD YOU NOT WANT TO RIDE DOWN THAT TRAIL?!?!?!?!?
sweet.
soz rolly…i’m all about the second picture.
if anyone manages to ride down that spillway i’d be very impressed! that’s not a dare though.
weather’s lookin good folks!!!
get ya tickets now.
also, if ppl have gear but can’t make it & are willing to lend it to those without, drop me an email - rolly@fixed.org.au - so we can get some ppl sorted.
GET EXCITED
I think Joey rode down that thing brakeless. And wore through the tyre in one go.
Typical Joey.

who’s comin with me?
I have a tent to lend if anyone requires it.
This is one of those times that I wish I lived in Melbourne.
I’d be all over this.
Have fun dudes
ok folks, bit of a last gasp effort needed, or this may need to be postponed.
if you’ve been thinking about coming along but were waiting until the last minute, this is the last minute.
weather looks good, i’ve got meat for the BBQ (can get vegan/vegetarian alternatives if necessary), we’ll have a fire and talk about fixxxies and whipskids. campsite looks beautiful, aqueduct trail even more so (if you’ve got biggish tyres).
here are some pics of the campsite and the aqueduct trail:
