you should have held out jono for the new 11 speed gruppo ![]()
I hear that 11 speed is incompatible with mudguards.
No dramas at all. Sram use the Shimano spacing on the freehub body, which hasn’t changed since 8-speed. But the splines have become deeper, so you can’t necessarily use a new 10 speed hub with an older cassette.
Old hub + new cassette = good.
New hub + old cassette = bad.
Keeping things compatible is one of the reasons why I didn’t choose a silver Campagnolo group for this bike, and the Apex seemed to have a higher quality finish for the money. Time will tell.
That is a seriously great build. I think it’s nailed the balance between practicality and classic looks. Great way to get the most out of a nice old frame.
And CycleExif - how have I missed that site? Some good stuff on there.
Funnily enough Haidee has a red Gefsco that needs a repaint - I don’t know if it will get a full rebuild like this though. Very tempting though, looking at the results you can get.
I don’t know how I missed this, it’s a great build, well done Carlin!
Nice clean looking roadie, lucky girl.
