Gong Ride, 26th June

If anyone is keen to get their roadies out next week, I’m planning on going on the Waterfall Ride with DHBC on sunday morning. I’ll be in the Cruisers group, heading out at 06:20. I won’t go if it’s wet.

I’ll have a think about it. I’m back on the bike this week, should be fighting fit by saturday.

btw, the crosscheck is killer for the commute. so much more comfy, and the big tyres/steel frame collabo just gets rid of all the road buzz. so freakin good.

Come on Jono. I can see you in a red jersey. Good news about the CC.

i had a fun time most fun i have had on my roadie in a long time, i am up for this agan some time soon i am also up for th dhbc ride on sunday as well.

Cool. Shall I meet you at Mick Mazza, about 06:15?

Also, anyone hazard a guess at our average speed before we got to the RNP? I think I heard someone say we were doing about 40km/h, but I don’t know how much that signifies on a longer journey? I want to join the right DHBC group on sunday.

There would have been some bits of 40km/h along there. My watch says 51:30 for the section along Southern Cross Drive and up to the servo in Gymea … but I didn’t always stop/start the timer exactly as we stopped or rolled out. About 27km/h average.

Plus you had to slow for me a bit when my pump decided it was extra weight and threw itself off my bike at the bottom of President Ave.

Will see how I feel on Sunday … I don’t remember the last time I was out of bed at that sort of time.

I love your precision. Thanks. I’ll stick in the cruisers group with DHBC.

Bugger, can’t make the DHBC ride. I’ll be riding with MC Cyclery group on saturday.

It’s what happens when you have gadgets. I reckon you’d be fine riding at 30kmh in a bunch

Rod, I have used your photos, hope that is ok.

Thanks to everyone for the ride. Let’s do it again.

No worries re photos Carlin. You have a really nice way with words, I enjoy reading what you write.

Love your blog C. I will visit often.

Well after reading Carlin and Marcus’ blogs this seems a bit lame. But fwiw here’s my gratuitous self plug Sydney to Wollongong Winter Classic | coffee and bikes and beers (oh my)

Sweet! Good write-ups guys! Enjoyed the read.

How do we all feel about a re-run on the 8th or 15th of August?

15th is better for me.

15th could work for me I reckon.

I’ll check my work schedule, but don’t let me be the deciding factor.

i am up for the 15th, and i mite have my new bike up by than.

I’m working on the weekend of the 15th. But like Rhys says, ‘don’t let me be the deciding factor’ either.

Whatcha getting, huh?
