Unless you are a dwarf I’d recommend going wider with your bars. General rule is/was that they should be at least as wide as your shoulders.
+1 on not repainting… new group+old frame=extra good.

Nikcee, I have 42 and 44cm bars already and too wide for me. A bike fit pro would say they are fine, but I’m not comfortable. 40cm would be bang on maybe 39. But I have weird ideas when it comes to bike fit!

If you feel like its lowering your upper body you could go a bit shorter stem

i have a solution… buy my super record compact 170 cranks… $300 and they are yours… about 2000kms on em, come wit CULT ceramic bearings, just order the rest of the gruppo as you need it… shiny bikes totally cater to that. min are ultra torque cranks which means… 10mm T handled allen key and a 10mm spanner or a shifter and your cranks are totally sorted… no pullers or special tool and 11speed rings work better than 10speed rings cause campag don’t develop the shifter ramps and pins on the 10speed stuff any more they just bang it out…
my SR cranks with the BB cups weigh 712g as well, not fucking around…

-Fizik Tundra Saddle - all black (prefer over the Arione)
Which means, I will need to do something about my Silver Aksiums and replace with a black wheelset. Would like something Deep profile, like 40mm, but again, sticking budget… Not too fussed on weight either as it’s a steel frame anyway… maybe lace up some H+Son SL42’s to something? will need campy freehub though… hmmmmmm decisions. Or might go something like Campag Khamsin to keep it full campy!
Also undecided on pedal set up. I want to move from SPD’s to road cleats, but still torn between Shimano and Look…
Anyway, Pics of Frame after i gave it a clean and hand polish. The paint is stuffed. Really bad to work with, it was drinking the polish basically lol. Feels lovely and smooth now, but I wouldnt want to get the buffer on it for instance.

The paint looks sweet IMO. However not sure I follow you about the dent, it would be better if it was in the downtube because thats in tension. The top tube is in compression.
You are right, I am wrong! Still, should be ok. As I said, took it down to a LBS whilst it was built/i was riding it and they said it’ll be fine. It is steel after all.
This is gonna look so rad all murdered out. Maybe the new HPlusSon Archetype in black could be an option? Not super deep but would still look pretty sweet I reckon.
If you don’t want to bust the budget, Khamsin’s are fine for starters. I have them teamed up with my black, Veloce gruppo and they both look fine and run great.
