how your friends are rad.

^ pic makes me want to ride with the boys like old times, used to suffer 4 or more nights a week for the passion! and now im stuck on a fifo roster representing a crew overseas that i hardly see…

Chyeaaaahhhh! Take a pay cut and get yourself in one of the Perth offices!

Oh god, I would hate to think how many times Rollys eyes were rolling during my ‘what bag do I get’ crusade (Which is still going mind you!)

no way man, I understand your pain!! haha.

Mrs. Spirito does my laundry, I mow her lawn. Medo makes us laugh. Happy days.

Rolly’s cool cause of lots of reasons, one of them is that he makes me feel like I know stuff about bikes. It also makes me realise how many people on this forum I turn to in times of consumer anxiety. These people always help and never ask for anything in return. These are good people (I’m looking at you sime, Blakey and Cee bone Capone and others).

So last year I snapped a chain at the mont on a night lap (1am), which meant I had to run the rest of the course as I didn’t have enough chain to rejoin (being SS). This was my fourth lap so i was getting a little tired. I’ve got back to camp, and being all shitty and tired and annoyed cause I had to be up in 4hours to go out for another lap and it was cold and I didn’t want to have to fucking put a new chain on and sort all that shit out.
I sat on my bed (which was in the back of my car) to sulk, and feel asleep. Was woken by Jarod (the mate in question) who had fitted a new chain, cleaned the bike, and told me that I needed to be in transition in 30minutes. Legend.

My Dad (rad) also took me to see the avengers last night.

Shit that was a good post bb.

Duggan giving me Brikos / being more giving than anyone I know (cf dating my gf). Gene always being keen to hang out/being a coffee/beer snob. Dave being the friendliest person I know/an amazing dad. All amazing traits that demonstrate why TDR is #1.

Swarm for not hating /being jealous that I developed said new friends.

The idiots who i first met hungover out the front of a little store on little la trobe st the Sunday after Halloween 2008. Most of whom I dont see enough, but always have awesome stories to share.

People who thought running a cyclocross series with no real background in the discipline is a good idea, and then turn it into something that gets featured on cyclingnews, and the premier CX news sites.

How i told 4 people that I was going to be in Vancouver last year and I arrived and was told that I was due at a friends restaurant the next day. A whole lot of disparate friends showed up (many of whom hadnt seen each other for a while) and after shutting the place down we ended up in a friends lounge room hanging out until way late talking with a hundred little conversations happening. Almost the highlight of the trip was seeing a big group of people all sharing smiles and stories.

When you show up in a town, and a mysterious character from this forum offers to pick you up, drive 1.5hrs south to a race, entertains you the whole way with great conversations, pits for you, drives you back and cooks you an amazing dinner. It was an honour to try and return that favour when said ‘character’ descended on this fair city last year.

my best mate shouted me tickets to this awesome snowboarding festival back in 2006 coz he knew i wanted to go and couldn’t afford it.

best 6 days i had while overseas.

looks like it’s fucking massive these days!!

tara puts music on my ipod, and i don’t listen to it for months, but then, out of the blue, i’ll put something on, and it rules.

A mate of mine agreed to house sit my dog wheile I’m on holiday in Perth,
legend.

We need to hit up some gravel on the CX bikes. Take them out for a good spanking.

As I’m reading this post thinking about the friends I don’t talk to anymore and getting all sentimental, my best mate calls me up with news. He just scored a mint set of inline blades from an op-shop across town and wants to go for a roll soon. Time for a Sunday six pack ride along the river.

There must be something more than coincidence in that!

I had a pal email me out of the blue, and pay for half of my ticket to Europe so I could be at my own film screening when he heard I couldn’t afford it… In the end I did make it, by an hour. Rob, you’ll never read this, but you’re rad+

Oh nice work Rob!

So what film/festival? I received an email last night explaining how I’m required in Slovakia (wtf?) for my film, runs in with my 20th so I’m keen.

ftfy

I’m married to my Best Friend, and she is the most tolerant person I’ve met. We share an unbreakable bond that is our kids. And for having them She is more than Rad.

Bravo !!!
