From New Zealand. Enjoy!

shamals have gone now :frowning:

i liked the shamals but always hated the phil wood hubs.

i still own the campy groupset its on my other bike atm.

but i quite like the dura ace and heds on this. its alot more fun to ride aswell. stronger wheels.

Love it,
But seriously do you ride it like that?
50/15 is 90gi and that set up of saddle to bar drop wow.

really? why so?

never heard a bad word about them!

Serious porn, top shelf. Love the HED’s mate, would nominate for BOTY!

i currently ride it 50/16. 50/15 is a bit much with this drop! my other bike i run 50/15

100% hated them because of the look! the functioned flawlessly!

the front hub just looked too ‘big’ in a light weight shamal 650c rim

ah ok, fair enough. yeah, now i think about it, phils to shamals would probably look a little strange…

i don’t think i have the back strength for your setup, but it does look rad. nice work.

thought i should update the thread with my other bike too.

i have since sold the shamal wheelset and looking at getting something different,

i didnt really want to sell but go offered a pretty amount so had to let them go…

thank man.

yea i havnt had too many problems riding it. i did 70km ride on it a week ago and felt fine. it was more the cages that was a problem (didnt have time to throw my clips on! big mistake!)

The gibbs is real nice,
Your s tougher man than me 70km on that would kill me.

Both bikes looks real nice man…

You sure have knees of steel for riding that ratio.

FTFY

nice bikes though, love the heds

dude your running 80+ gear inches brakeless on the street with straps and cages on light weight wheel sets?

cool
at least they look nice

No surprises there :stuck_out_tongue:

Love the Gibbs. More pics!

Havnt ever had a problem with my knees in 3 years of riding. Plus I live Wellington too, not exactly the flattest place to ride.

What gear ratios are you guys rolling over there? I would say above 80 is more common that below over here! Maybe we are just abit tougher! Ha!

Low 70s, unless you’re from Perth …

^^^ this 69-74 I like a high cadence though.
50x15 is 90 that’s track gearing.
Try 46-47 17

My first bike was 47/17 then I moved onto 50/17 for a year or so loved that gear.

The Mendez is mainly my track bike hence the 90 inches, that and long 70+ k flat rides

But I’m starting to love 50/16, been riding this for coming up to two years.

I have tried pretty much every combo on the 14+ bikes ive had in the last 4 years.

And I have to say the 50/16 on the j.Foster is my favorite so far.
