shamals have gone now
i liked the shamals but always hated the phil wood hubs.
i still own the campy groupset its on my other bike atm.
but i quite like the dura ace and heds on this. its alot more fun to ride aswell. stronger wheels.
Love it,
But seriously do you ride it like that?
50/15 is 90gi and that set up of saddle to bar drop wow.

100% hated them because of the look! the functioned flawlessly!
the front hub just looked too ‘big’ in a light weight shamal 650c rim

ah ok, fair enough. yeah, now i think about it, phils to shamals would probably look a little strange…
i don’t think i have the back strength for your setup, but it does look rad. nice work.

thank man.
yea i havnt had too many problems riding it. i did 70km ride on it a week ago and felt fine. it was more the cages that was a problem (didnt have time to throw my clips on! big mistake!)
The gibbs is real nice,
Your s tougher man than me 70km on that would kill me.
Both bikes looks real nice man…
You sure have knees of steel for riding that ratio.

Havnt ever had a problem with my knees in 3 years of riding. Plus I live Wellington too, not exactly the flattest place to ride.
What gear ratios are you guys rolling over there? I would say above 80 is more common that below over here! Maybe we are just abit tougher! Ha!
Low 70s, unless you’re from Perth …
^^^ this 69-74 I like a high cadence though.
50x15 is 90 that’s track gearing.
Try 46-47 17

My first bike was 47/17 then I moved onto 50/17 for a year or so loved that gear.
The Mendez is mainly my track bike hence the 90 inches, that and long 70+ k flat rides
But I’m starting to love 50/16, been riding this for coming up to two years.

I have tried pretty much every combo on the 14+ bikes ive had in the last 4 years.
And I have to say the 50/16 on the j.Foster is my favorite so far.
