I’m all for this,
There is a hole in the market and good luck
Like I said earlier I would wear all but the camo
But would do on the mtn bike.
My favorite is the give them hell
Just not sure if there is many other young guys keen to drop $400 on a kit
I just bought two rapha kits so there is a market for the stuff.
That’s the first time we’ve ever seen Rugged Bloke and we’ll choose to reserve all judgement.
We should also mention that that price includes shipping, an Attaquer musette and tub of Attaquer Shammy Cream.
FWIW I really like this kit and would happily wear it.
Also, MASH and Cadence kits are ~$350, so $400 including shipping, musette and chamois cream is pretty good.
Yeah if it includes that it’s very comparable as long as the quality is what you say,
I’m allways happy to see Australian based company’s having a crack at it.
MASH is $110 jersey + $150 bibs + $42 shipping. Throw in a tub of $20 Assos chamois cream. Thats like 20% cheaper.
Fuck cycling gear is expensive.
EDIT: not having a dig at attaquer. All my kit is exclusively CELL bikes
$42 for shipping for a jersey and some bibs is a fucking joke though.
Yeah, that does appeal. Guessing if I bought this kit there’d be even more lone wolf riding
As someone with a bit of Rapha gear in the drawer I’m ok with Attaquer pricing. Nice supporting an Australian company, be nice if they made locally too. Have a few Search & State jerseys, not regretting the price paid for them. All comes down to the fit though; I’ll probably make my way over to not-so-Northside Wheelers sometime to try some on, but not till the CC recovers from Christmas.
^ That was a morning well spent.
Daft question: is rigid bloke the same as rugged bloke?
oh derp, I see it is from a previous post
I came here to post that, have pre-ordered mine. Too good to pass up.
A word of advice - novelty jerseys are a great idea at the time, but when you get dropped by your group, get two flats in Cronulla and are having bottles thrown at you, looking down seeing a shit novelty jersey is the final straw.
This. Grown men in tight lycra draw enough attention as it is.
If anything amateur cycling needs (in my opinion, and I don’t expect you to agree) is to take itself less serious. If I ride in Lycra, then I would prefer to wear something like this (my only ‘novelty’ kit) than see a group of fake corporate branding plastered over jerseys like scouts badges.
I also have more mundane/minimalist kits, but sometimes its nice to have a laugh every now and then, and to dress to occasion.
I agree, and I don’t really get the idea of buying team or shop jerseys, essentially you are paying to advertise for them?
all of this…
when racing, i wear ridic’ kit.
when commuting, i wear ridic’ kit.
when going for longer rides, i tone it waaaayyyy back.
Sometimes pro team kits are the cheapest kits out there. You can pick up some great deals out there at a quarter of the price of some other gear.
So I dont mind wearing skyoricavacansoleillottoquicksteprussiandruglord gear if it means I save $300.
True dat
