JLN's music thread

How’s I’m an idiot and didn’t even notice the Weakling cover you posted. Granted, I don’t listen to them much. But yeah, nice eyes, Jolan.

There’s also their 1998 cassette demo floating around. Pretty easy to find, just google “Weakling demo”.

As for Refused… Breach were the better band on Burning Heart.

Ha ha, yeah there are definite similarities, but I guess he knows it, given that there’s a track called Premier on the album.

Listening to another of his albums now; Mad Blunted Jazz. Pretty good too. There’s one album of his that I’ve never been able to find. I used to have it about 10 years ago but lost it, and all I can remember now is that one of the tracks has a sample that goes ‘I love hip hop like Madonna loves dick’. It was a great album.

I saw them at Livid festival and it was straight up amazing.
I had a major crush on teh keyboard girl.

I’ll take it further… my girlfriends sister (who is a promoter in vancouver) had a long-distance relationship of sorts with dennis. she met him through (I)NC [post his gf leaving] and while aware of refused wasnt aware of their legacy. when she was saying that he had been calling her and they had been hanging out i was mighty stoked. i missed out on having dinner with him at one point.

unfortunately she ruined a couple of bands for me by telling me what dicks they were in real life…

and yes, i was waiting for the 90s hardcore albums to start popping up

Great album, but how good is the breakdown in Rather Be Dead!

Also got the new Baroness Blue Album last night… its awesome.

The filmclip is awesome also. SNAILS!!

top 5 in my rotation at present-

GZA- Pro Tools
GZA- Liquid Swords
DJ Babu- Duck Season Vol. 1
Method Man- 4:21
Rhymefest- El Che

Its all been hip hop in anticipation of GZA’s show tonight @ the Prince, it should be a mental event, the man is in my opinion Wu Tangs best MC.

Top 5 NOT hip hop on rotation-

Betrayed- Substance
Sick Of It All- Built to Last
Raised Fist- Stronger Than Ever
Bad Religion- Against the Grain
Rancid- 2000

Its a nice blend of musical tastes on here, i like that, but would have to say, iwearmoccos has my vote so far!

<a href=“http://www.mediafire.com/?wj0mwjy2dxm”>metallica - ride the lightning at 33rpm
</a>
<a href=“http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NFWNDESH”>metallica - master of puppets at 33rpm</a>

Metallica has helped me to some epic PB’s out on long training rides.

not at 33rpm they wont

does this call for a metal themed event at some stage in the future?
i thought i was alone in my awful music taste!
mad metallica on vinyl…kill em all is so good the old way.

GZA was straight up amazing lastnight!!!

He didnt really hit top gear til towards the end in my opinion, but it was still amazing to see.
where the fuck was Killah Priest? I didnt catch any of the supports, was he on earlier?

thank you cat of approval.

i dunno, would’ve liked a dj and a bit more dynamic to the whole show.

no merch table. they usually set up next to the cloakroom at the prince…

<a href=“http://www.liveguide.com.au/Festivals/639588/MegaRampage_Festival”>hopefully there’s a sideshow for this</a>

a few of my buddies are goin to this, im thinkin bout springing for a ticket.
I wouldnt like to count on a side show.
Watching guys throw themselves of that ramp is good enough reason to go.
