Those Fiziks that brendan mentioned, a mate just got those, very nice also. They are stiff as a very stiff thing though.
tri shoes are awesome… particularly for wet weather riding - they typically have drain holes in the soles, air vents to direct air into the soles, better padding/internal stitching on account of the fact that they’re designed to be used without socks
I think if I were to get the Rapha shoes (which I don’t want, totes happy with my Ergo II’s) I’d also want matching sunnies and Helmet. I mean, if you’re gonna take cycling attire coordination that far, may as well go the whole way. As it is I feel like Rapha is the meat/vegan alternative sandwich filling and my sidi’s, catlike and oakleys are the bread (vegan or other).

I got the giro helmets already and I do like the matchy matchy kit/bike/shoes thing and I’m totally happy with my ergo 2s. I’ve been down the road in em though so they have a few wounds…

As far as the second gen thing goes here I think the first gen would make more sense… Right now these shoes are top priority for giro… It’s doubtful they will receive their undivided attention again

Bought these to pair with my vintage Roadie, peeps thought they were dress shoes out of the box until I screwed on the cleats. They’re worth every penny performance wise, but don’t use the cheapo Dubbin on them - they rub off the dye colour.
I always said I’d go to Sidi’s next but I kind of feel its a bit ridiculous to have 3 (or 4 including the heel) different closure systems on the one shoe. Seriously considering those BG-74’s but not sure if its a great idea to roll with leather I am also concerned about the ratio of price to my complete lack of riding talent in bying them. I just let that ratio be expressed by a personal no white shoes rule.
The regular s-works are a little cheaper and have a synthetic upper. Any comments on leather vs synthetic? Melbourne does get rainy. My specialized mtb/commuter shoes fit great and haven’t missed a beat in years
My Bonts are dying, I will never go back there. The sole scuffs by looking at it, they are cracking around the heel, the wear pads are extremely replaceable (do not stay on for more than a a few months) and they’re peeling everywhere.
Those raphas with all the baby poo smeared on them look horrible.
